Tropical Wedding.

This is the tropical wedding that I did August 15th, it turned out so pretty.

The colors were, Scarlet, Lemon, Kiwi, Spice and Persimmon, each girl in the wedding wore a different color.

My Brother's Wedding Flowers.

It was like a dream and we are all still asking each other if it really did happen. My Brother married the sweetest girl in Texas on Feb. 21 and guess who did the flowers? Here are a few pics of what I did and I thank all of the ladies that volunteered, because I could not have done it with out them. Enjoy, Heidi

Glamor Rubbage

My friend Lisa DelMonico(a local jewelry artist) and I have been collaborating on my new custom one of a kind jewelry line. Here is the first piece, it consist of an antique key, a strand of clear faceted stones, a mother of pearl button shaped like a flower and a buckle, a glass leaf, a rhinestone button and a faux pearl bead. 90% of it is vintage and it represents the things I love to surround myself with in my nest. This one's name is Green. I call the line "Glamor Rubbage". I will post more as they are created.

Flowers

Everyday is different. I don't really know what I will be doing from one week to the next. This picture is of an arrangement I did last week for a party where I got to make arrangements for every room of the customer's home. Today I did flowers for a funeral and tomorrow I will make a bride's bouquet for her bridal portraits. I don't like doing the same thing everyday so this job seems a great fit.

A Store and a Home

The Old Drug Store building in Burton,is a historical landmark built in 1874. One of the first buildings built in Burton. It had originally been the local drug store/gift shop with soda fountain, it was also the first post office in Burton. It was like the current day clinic, having a doctor's office in the back and the pharmacy in the front. Dr. Laass and Dr. Southern were the two doctors it has seen in it's life time. It was sold in the late 60's to early 70's to the McGill's and was then transformed into a craft store where you could take art lessons, learn ceramics and eggery. It was the office for an accountant and a antiques shop. Then in 1995 it was put up for sale and I snatched it up, making it my home and my store.

My name is Heidi Matthies-Jaster and I am the owner and designer of The Nesting Co. Florist. All my life I have had a passion for arranging things, whether it be flowers or home decor. After graduating from High School I attended the Benz School of Floral Design at Texas A&M University. I have worked for several years at other florists allowing me to gain valuable knowledge and expericence . The Nesting Co. Florist has been operating as a speciality florist since January 2006 and as an antiques/gift shop since 2003. We offer fresh arrangements and indoor plants that can be delivered to anyone in the areas of: Burton, Carmine, Round Top, Shelby, Independence and Brenham. We also carry gifts, antiques, home decor and Heirloom Botanicals which are plants that have been growing in local gardens for 100 plus years. The Nesting Co. operates mostly with me wearing all the hats of the business, but when large events present themselves I am able to call upon a wonderfully creative group of designers that can make magic happen on a larger scale.
